How to Choose an Architect

A client decision framework: match the commission to demonstrated strength, verify evidence, check delivery references.

Start from the commission, not the brand: a ranking answers "who is strongest overall," a commission answers "who is strongest for this." Use the nomination pages to shortlist by demonstrated strength, then verify: award records on primary sources, license status with TBAE, and — for public work — budget and schedule references from prior clients. Treat firm-reported figures (grade C) as claims to confirm, not facts. This index informs qualification-based selection; it does not replace it.
